Amazon has this enormous 77-inch Samsung OLED 4K TV on sale for $900 off in an unbeatable Black Friday dealSunday’s 30-7 rout of the New York Giants began a six-game, regular season-ending stretch in which the Bucs (5-6) will face five opponents that currently have losing records. The victory coming out of the team’s bye week stopped a four-game skid and moved the three-time defending NFC South champions within one game of first-place Atlanta in the division. The Falcons swept the season series, so the Bucs essentially trail the Falcons by two games with six remaining. They’re in a good position to chase their fifth consecutive playoff berth, but can hardly assume they’ll benefit from having an easy remaining schedule. “We’re hoping it builds confidence. We have belief that we’re still sitting and controlling our own destiny,” quarterback Baker Mayfield said of beating the Giants. “But it’s not just going to happen,” Mayfield added. “So, we have to take it one week at a time. And you find the recipe for success within your work week. ... You try to emulate that week after week and continue to build it.” The Los Angeles Chargers, who entered Monday night’s game against Baltimore at 7-3, are the only opponent remaining on Tampa Bay’s schedule that currently has a winning record. The Bucs will face division rival Carolina (3-8) twice in the next six weeks. They’ll also host Las Vegas (2-9) and New Orleans (4-7) and play the Chargers and Dallas Cowboys (4-7) on the road. “We can’t get comfortable,” rookie running back Bucky Irving said. “We just got to keep our foot on the gas and keep running.” The offense continues to put up big numbers, finishing with 450 yards against the Giants. It’s the fifth time Tampa Bay has gained more than 400 yards this season. The Bucs have now scored 30-plus points six times, second in the NFL behind Buffalo’s eight. There wasn’t a lot to fault in the team’s performance against the Giants, although coach Todd Bowles said both the offense and defense could have been done a better job closing out the game late. “For the most part we executed on both sides of the football,” Bowles said. “Still like to have finished the game a little better, but they came back (from the bye week) mentally tougher, and they came ready to play.” Irving averaged more than 7 yards per carry in rushing for 87 yards on 12 attempts. He also had six receptions for 64 yards, finishing with a season-high 151 yards from scrimmage. Just when it looked as if the defense was beginning to trend the right way health-wise, the Bucs lost safety Jordan Whitehead (pectoral) and linebacker Joe Tryon-Shoyinka (ankle) to injuries on Sunday. Bowles said Monday he was still awaiting an update on the severity of Whitehead’s injury. Tryon-Shoyinka has an ankle sprain. LT Tristan Wirfs (knee) sat out against the Giants and his status will be evaluated as the week progresses. 11. With wide receiver Mike Evans back on the field after missing three games with a hamstring injury, Mayfield completed passes to 11 different players, tying a team record. “He obviously changed the game, even when he's not getting the ball,” Mayfield said. “It's huge that we have him in.” At Carolina, the second of three consecutive games vs. last-place teams the Bucs will face during their stretch run. They’ll also host the Panthers on Dec. 29. “It’s an NFC South battle, and all of them are going to be hard. None of them are going to be easy,” Bowles said. “I think (coach) Dave (Canales) has done an excellent job taking on that team and it’s taking over his personality right now,” Bowles added. “They’re playing pretty good football. ... It’s going to be a tough battle.” AP NFL: https://apnews.com/hub/nfl
The Miami Dolphins are in the middle of climbing themselves back into the AFC playoff picture, rattling off three straight wins to get to 5-6. The Dolphins aren't the only team fighting to stay alive, as the 7-5 Denver Broncos are just ahead, owning the seventh seed. Could the Broncos get help this season from a former Dolphins star? Bleacher Report believes that Denver should sign former All-Pro corner Xavien Howard to aid their playoff push. Xavien Howard remains the top cornerback who doesn't have a team right now. If he's healthy, he would be able to come in and give them a better chance at not missing a beat if Patrick Surtain II or Moss did go down. Howard hasn't played this season, but most recently had a free agent visit with the Cincinnati Bengals a few weeks ago. He was solid last season, with 45 tackles and 12 passes defended in 13 games before a foot injury prematurely ended his campaign. He's 31 years old but proved last year that he can still play. It would create quite the headline for the four-time Pro Bowler to make his return to the league on a playoff team that's currently one seed ahead of his former squad.CHICAGO — Teresa Weatherspoon doesn’t want to dwell on the past. That’s easy to say. Harder to execute. But as she embraces a new role with Unrivaled — a 3-on-3 league that will debut in January — the former Chicago Sky coach wants to focus on the future. NoneThere's a new era for NASCAR games coming in 2025, but fans may want to grab the previous titles while they still can. Motorsport Games, the company that until recently held the rights to make NASCAR racing games, has announced that all of its NASCAR titles and associated DLC will be pulled from digital storefronts on December 31. The silver lining from that announcement is that titles like NASCAR Heat, NASCAR Rivals, and NASCAR: Ignition will be going on sale before the games are delisted. All of the affected games and their physical disc counterparts will remain playable after January 1, 2025, they just won't be directly available for online purchases. NASCAR branded games date back to 1991 with Bill Elliott's NASCAR Challenge, and the license has been utilized by several different gaming publishers over the decades. The current NASCAR rights holder is iRacing, which reportedly plans to release NASCAR '25 across all consoles and PC in Fall 2025. Real-life NASCAR racers have previously shown their support for games based on their events. Perhaps most notably, Ross Chastain credited NASCAR 2005 for his thrilling wallride finish in 2022 . NASCAR subsequently banned the move as a potential safety hazard.
Former President Barack Obama is stepping back into the spotlight after President-elect Donald Trump ’s decisive 312 to 226 Electoral College victory last month, raising questions about his role in the Democratic Party moving forward. Obama is participating in a conversation with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel about her new book at the Anthem in Washington, D.C., on Monday. Merkel's book offers an extensive list of complaints about Trump in her new memoir, describing her experience working with him in an unflattering light. The former president also plans to headline the 2024 Obama Democracy Forum in Chicago later this week with actor Ryan Reynolds and country singer Reyna Roberts to discuss “pluralism,” in which diverse communities find ways to work together. Obama’s public appearances come less than a month after the presidential election left Democrats attempting to understand why the party appears to be disconnected from working-class voters. The results of the election also have led some to question whether Obama’s influence remains relevant. Longtime Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf believes Obama is a critical figure within the Democratic Party. “His influence is not waning — you can’t get rid of heroes if you can’t replace them,” he said. “The Democrats have a generational issue and a fundamental identity issue." “The party has to regroup. The question is — can Barack Obama and the heroes of the past help them do that, or do they need an entire new generation to get to work?” Sheinkopf said. Topics that will be addressed at the Obama Foundation Forum on Thursday will be “Why Pluralism Matters,” “How to Make Progress in Polarized Times,” and “The Power of Culture and Connection." Attendees will participate in workshops where they will “learn new tools to foster productive dialogue essential to inclusive and resilient communities,” according to the Obama Foundation. Brad Bannon, a Democratic strategist, believes Obama feels more comfortable appearing in public in an effort to speak out about Trump’s plans. “He is stepping back in the spotlight — you’ll see him talk about national security issues because I think he’s concerned about the direction that the president-elect will take in dismantling NATO and withdrawing support for Ukrainians,” Bannon said. “I think he’s very concerned about the direction that Trump will take in foreign policy and believes that Trump will undermine our national and international posture — so I think that’s what this conversation with Merkel is about, but he wants to stay above the partisan fray," the strategist said. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER Obama was active on the campaign trail, crisscrossing the country for Vice President Kamala Harris's presidential bid and, at one point, scolded black men who were finding " excuses " for not wanting to support the first black female president. Obama unleashed scathing criticism of Trump in the final months of the campaign, portraying him as unfit for office. "We do not need to see what an older, loonier Donald Trump looks like with no guardrails," he said at an Arizona rally in October. Bannon predicts Obama will try to be less visible in internal Democratic Party politics and wield his influence beyond the scenes. “I think he purposely doesn’t enjoy partisan politics very much. I think he stepped up in the last month for Harris, but I don’t think you’ll see him doing a lot of Democratic Party politics,” he explained. “He prefers to be in the background and make his influence felt indirectly. “It would be a surprise to me if he didn’t weigh in behind the scenes on the new choice of a Democratic National Party chair — and I think a lot of Democrats respect his advice and counsel, but he’s going to do that indirectly.”Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. This follows her break up with ITV2 show beau Sean Stone in August . Despite joining Love Island's summer series late, Matilda quickly won over viewers - who were then shocked when she was accused of ending things with the sweet seller via text shortly after filming ended. Now it seems the brunette recruitment consultant has moved on with ITVBe heartthrob Roman Hackett , 22 - and the hint lies in her pair of fashionable trousers. Model Roman showcased the brightly-patterned garment on his Instagram page - and online detectives swiftly linked it to Beckenham-born Matilda's outfit. Dressed entirely in black, he snapped the lower half of his body alongside someone else's as they shared a cosy moment in the street. However, later in the day, Matilda let the cat out of the bag as she posted an Instagram Stories snap of herself modelling her "fave trousers ever."The standout garment features cartoon-style text across the front of the stitched multi-coloured panels. Fringed sides and hemline add to the trousers' edgy vibe, which she teamed with a simple black vest and puffa jacket. Her tops were identical to those seen in Roman's photo - leading many to believe they are a couple. Sean and Matilda announced their split in August just weeks after leaving the Love Island villa. Matilda announced the split as she took to social media and wrote: "Just wanted to come on here to tell you guys that Sean and I have decided to part ways. We are still good friends & I'm so grateful to have shared such an incredible experience with him. We appreciate all of your support throughout our time together and all the love you have shown us. Love you all.” Sean shared the statement on his own Instagram but added an extra line which read: "We both believe this is the best step for us moving forward." In other news, The Sun recently reported that Roman had ended his relationship with another Love Island star, Ella Barnes, in August. This followed after TOWIE fans watched his romance with co-star Dani Imbert unfold. In April, Dani Imbert sadly confirmed that her fiery romance with Roman had been nipped in the bud , revealing to fans that she's already moved on. The former flames began a romance during filming of the widely-adored ITVBe series - with Dani and Roman having joined the show as newbies back in 2021 - but after leaving fans in limbo for several weeks, yesterday she broke the news of their split. Dani exclusively told The Sun at the time that she had reunited with a mystery man she enjoyed a fling with before meeting Roman. "I am seeing someone else now to be completely honest," the blonde bombshell admitted. "We knew each other before the whole me and Roman situation, we were kind of seeing each other." Since then, both Roman and Dani appear to be single. OK! have reached out to Roman and Matilda's reps for comment.
YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — On a damp Wednesday night with temperatures dipping into the 30s, fans in sparsely filled stands bundled up to watch Buffalo beat Eastern Michigan 37-30 on gray turf. The lopsided game was not particularly notable, but it was played on one of the nights the Mid-American Conference has made its own: A weeknight. Special counsel David Weiss's office on Monday appeared to push back on President Joe Biden 's claim that its prosecutions of Hunter Biden were politically motivated , calling such allegations "baseless." In a court filing challenging Hunter Biden's request to have the California indictment against him dismissed in light of his father's Sunday night pardon , Weiss noted that a number of judges had already rejected the younger Biden’s claims of vindictive prosecution. In a statement announcing the "full and unconditional" pardon, the president said "I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted," referring to the cases brought by Weiss that led to a guilty verdict on gun-related charges in Delaware and Hunter Biden's guilty plea on tax and fraud charges in California. "I believe in the justice system, but as I have wrestled with this, I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice," Biden said. In the court filing , Weiss's office did not directly mention the president's statement, but noted that Hunter Biden filed eight motions to dismiss the California indictment "making every conceivable argument for why it should be dismissed, all of which were determined to be meritless." "Of note, the defendant argued that the indictment was a product of vindictive and selective prosecution. The Court rejected that claim finding that '[a]s the Court stated at the hearing, Defendant filed his motion without any evidence.' And there was none and never has been any evidence of vindictive or selective prosecution in this case," the filing said. It noted that Hunter Biden "made similar baseless accusations" in the Delaware case, which were rejected by that judge as well. Three appeals court panels also rejected Hunter Biden's arguments, the filing said. "In total, eleven (11) different Article III judges appointed by six (6) different presidents, including his father, considered and rejected the defendant’s claims, including his claims for selective and vindictive prosecution," the filing said. In filings Sunday night, Hunter Biden's attorney Abbe Lowell argued the presidential pardon “requires an automatic dismissal of the Indictment" against his client. Weiss argued in the California filing and a separate filing in Delaware that courts typically "do not dismiss indictments when pardons are granted.” "The Government does not challenge that the defendant has been the recipient of an act of mercy. That does not mean the grand jury’s decision to charge him, based on a finding of probable cause, should be wiped away as if it never occurred," the Delaware filing said. "It also does not mean that his charges should be wiped away because the defendant falsely claimed that the charges were the result of some improper motive or selective prosecution. No court has agreed with the defendant on these baseless claims, and his request to dismiss the indictment finds no support in the law," it added. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Lowell responded to Weiss's filing late Monday and argued the judge has the right — and reason — to dismiss the underlying indictment. "Mr. Biden has not been sentenced and no judgment has been entered in this case. Because no judgment has been or will be entered in this case, the appropriate resolution is to dismiss the Indictment while noting that is due to a pardon," Lowell wrote. Hunter Biden had been scheduled to be sentenced in both cases later this month.
A South Carolina community is without a police force after the entire department resigned, including the chief of police. On Friday, McColl Mayor George Garner confirmed that the town no longer had any police officers and told WMBF News that the community is in a “difficult situation.” “We’re actively working to hire a new police chief and more officers,” Mayor Garner said. Garner said Police Chief Bob Hale put in his resignation first and the other officers then followed suit. In a public Facebook post, Hale stated his resignation was due to alleged repeated harassment and personal attacks and “hostile work environment” by an unnamed member of the city council. “It is with a heavy heart that I do confirm my resignation as Chief of Police of the McColl Police Department along with all four of my fellow officers,” Hale wrote. “My personal decision to step away from the McColl Police Department can be attributed to repeated acts of harassment, personal attacks on my character, and the overall creation of a hostile work environment perpetuated by a specific Councilman.” Hale added that the actions of the unnamed councilman made it impossible for the department to function effectively. “For months, I have endured unwarranted and malicious behavior aimed at undermining my integrity and leadership,” Hale continued in the post. “These actions have not only affected me personally but have also created a toxic atmosphere that has hindered the department’s ability to function effectively. Despite our efforts to address these issues professionally and through appropriate channels, the harassment and hostility have persisted.” In his statement, Hale also alleged that money was cut from the police department’s budget and that other critical police needs were not being fulfilled. “I also can’t help but feel that these consistent negative acts were strategically used to inhibit the continued growth and success of the department. A significant amount of money was cut from our already depleted budget by the same Councilman upon his arrival to his elected position. Despite repeated appeals for funding to modernize equipment, enhance training, and increase staffing levels to meet the needs of our community, those critical needs went unmet. This lack of investment hampered our ability to operate at the standard the citizens of the Town of McColl rightfully expect and deserve. The safety of the residents and the well-being of the officers should have been prioritized by committing the necessary resources to build a department capable of addressing the complexities of 21st-century policing. Sadly, this was not the case and the majority of my tenure as Chief of Police was spent clearing the names of my officers as well as myself, from the numerous falsehoods that were made against us,” said Former McColl Police Chief Bob Hale. Hale said the decision to resign was not made lightly, and he deeply regrets the impact it may have on the community they have dedicated themselves to serving. “I believe that stepping away is the only way to shed light on the severity of these issues and call for accountability and change. I remain hopeful that the Town of McColl will come together to address these challenges, prioritize ethical leadership, and create an environment where those in public service can perform their duties free from undue interference and hostility,” Hale wrote. One McColl resident told WMBF now that the town is without a police department, he worries that residents could be at risk. “Say if someone were stabbed or shot or whatever – without police enforcement, they would have to come from the sheriff’s office in Bennettsville,” said McColl resident, William Groom. “We’re talking ten or fifteen minutes and someone could possibly expire in that amount of time. Without police enforcement, it’s definitely a bad situation.” Despite Hales’ statement, Garner told WMBF that Hale was not leaving the town on bad terms. “I hate to see them go. They were a great group. But we gonna continue on,” Garner said. Garner added that he has asked the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office and other nearby agencies to help cover the town in the meantime. He also enlisted the help of the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division for additional help. The McColl Police Department is now accepting applications for Chief of Police and Garner said applications can be picked up at McColl Town hall. Back in October, another community experienced a similar situation to the town of McColl. The entire Geary Police Department in Oklahoma, including their chief of police, resigned citing political leaders for failing to meet the police department’s needs. Is Micron Stock a Buy Before 2024 Ends?

UPDATE -- nCino to Participate in Upcoming Investor ConferencesHalliburton Co. stock rises Monday, still underperforms marketThe Tennessee Titans are showing signs of growing tougher. This time, they shook off eight sacks and three turnovers to stave off a third straight losing season for at least another week. The Titans not only scored the game-winning touchdown on a one-play drive in the fourth quarter, they also came up with back-to-back sacks. The second led to a safety, clinching a 32-27 win over the AFC South-leading Houston Texans. First-year coach Brian Callahan called how the Titans (3-8) responded crucial validation in the NFL where the only grading system is wins and losses. "We finally get a chance against a really good team on the road in the division to show what we’re made of," Callahan said. "This is the team we think we’re capable of being. It’s the team that I’ve believed in all year long." Running back Tony Pollard says the Titans have learned some important lessons that only come from fighting through adversity. They've had lots of that, which can wear out teams this late in the season. "Eventually, they’ll start turning over,” Pollard said. What’s working The offense. The Titans scored a season high in points and topped their game average with 20 points by halftime. Better yet was quarterback Will Levis both starting and finishing his first win of the season. Levis also completed his first 11 passes and connected with seven different receivers. Levis finished with 278 yards passing and threw two touchdown passes. Pollard also ran for 119 yards as the Titans played keep-away, holding the ball for more than 34 minutes. They finished with four plays of 27 yards or longer with Levis responsible for the three longest. What needs help Special teams. Coordinator Colt Anderson has been under pressure, which didn't ease after the Texans gave up an 80-yard return on the opening kickoff. The Titans then gave up a TD on the first play from scrimmage — only the fourth time that has happened in the NFL since 2000 and first since the Chargers in Week 7 in 2018. It didn't get better as rookie Jha'quan Jackson fumbled a punt recovered by Houston near midfield in the third quarter. The Titans allowed only a field goal. But special teams allowed the Texans to average 36.8 yards per kickoff return. Punter Ryan Stonehouse had a net average of 45.2 yards as he made up for a 38-yarder that counts as a shank for him with a 62-yarder early in the fourth to help flip the field. Stock up Tight end Chig Okonkwo. The fourth-round draft pick in 2022 scored a 70-yard catch-and-run touchdown that was the longest catch of his career. That one TD catch had more yards than Okonkwo had managed in any of his previous 44 games. It was enough as the game-winning TD. Stock down Levis completed his first 11 passes. He's completed 67.9% of his passes in his past three starts with five TD passes with only two interceptions with a 107.2 passer rating. Callahan likes those signs of improvement. “We definitely got to get the sack numbers down. ... We can't give up eight sacks a game and feel like it's going to be good enough,” Callahan said. The second-year quarterback has to be more aware of pressure to avoid sacks. The Titans offensive line hasn't helped much, but Levis took a beating, being sacked eight times by Houston. He's now been sacked 20 times in three straight starts since returning from a sprained AC joint in his right, throwing shoulder. He also had his third pick-6 this season. Injuries The Titans played Houston without starting safety Amari Hooker because of illness. Callahan said they will open the window for CB Chidobe Awuzie to practice in a possible return from injured reserve. Key number 35 — The number of times Levis has been sacked in eight games this season or more than all but three NFL quarterbacks. One of those? Houston’s C.J. Stroud, who was sacked for a safety to clinch Tennessee’s road win. Next steps A road win over the AFC South leader and defending champion could provide the confidence boost the Titans needed. They wrap up a two-game road swing by visiting Washington (7-5), which has lost three straight. The Titans play four of the final five inside the AFC South where their faint hope of reaching the postseason lies even as fans root for a high draft pick. AP NFL: https://apnews.com/hub/nfl
